Do it Yourself – Skin Care Recipes From Annmarie Gianni

Miss out on the 2011 Raw Health Expo? Don't worry, you can still try out the demo recipes we shared! Read on and try these three do-it-yourself, home-made skin care recipes

Vitamin C Seaweed Serum

Rich in anti-oxidants, this serum helps tighten the appearance of skin and is great for firming.

Place the Irish Moss in water and allow to soak for 20 minutes. Blend the moss and soak water for 30-40 seconds. Add Vitamin C. Blend for another 20 seconds or until moss is fairly smooth.

Pour into a jar with a lid and allow it to set for five minutes, or place in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes to chill for a great after-sun treatment.

This recipe makes a whole lot, but will last at least two weeks in the refrigerator. You might want to make a half portion if you do not plan on using it very frequently.

To Apply:

Take 1/2 tbsp of the Seaweed Serum and massage all over your face and neck. Keep on for 10-15 min. It will dry, so you may want to keep a spray bottle near by and spray water (or even one of my toners) on your face periodically in order to keep it moist. Wash off well.

This will leave you with a natural glow and super soft skin!

Sunny Avocado Mask

This mask is great for those who are looking to add moisture to their skin naturally!

  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/4 banana
  • 1 tbsp sunflower meal

  • Mash the avocado and banana together then mix in the sunflower seeds.
  • Smear all over your face leave on for 15 mins and wash off.

This treatment is great to do two times a week.  The mask will keep for one day if kept in the refrigerator.
