Beautiful Voices is our ongoing blog series that highlights inspiring, empowering women. Our most recent Beautiful Voice is Samantha Schroth. See what she says when Annmarie asks her some questions about her own personal beauty.
I am nature lover, avid reader, fan of all animals and aspiring writer.
If money was no object what would you be doing?
If money was no object I would write. My goal/dream in life is to be a writer. I love reading and I also love writing. I want to write novels and hopefully get them published. I am currently working on trying to make that dream a reality but with needing to maintain a paying job I have less time for writing than I would like.
Where and when do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace on my yoga mat. It might sound cliché but it was 100% true. I enjoy rolling out my mat and stepping onto it and choosing to take that time for myself and my body and mind. I am able to fully engage and come into myself on the mat.
What does beauty mean to you?
To me beauty is the feeling of being comfortable and happy within your own skin and embracing some of our own perceived “imperfections” such as laugh lines or maybe a spattering of freckles across your nose that you always wished would go away. To me that is beauty. It's something you can feel inside and it translates to your outside. If you feel that way about yourself it will really show and radiate on the outside.
What makes you feel beautiful?
My smile and my favorite pair of jeans and flip flops and also my curly hair. I've never had a great relationship with my hair because “the grass is always greener” sort of thing where I wanted straight hair but always had curly. In the past few years though I realized that it is so much easier to work with my hair than to fight it and now I love it. I can't imagine ever not loving it again. But it is one of the things that makes me feel most beautiful.
How does Annmarie's mission fit into your lifestyle?
I've never really thought it before until I found Annmarie but I really liked the idea of not only being healthy inside but outside as well. I never quite realized how important it was to be aware of the stuff that you are putting on your body can create an impact on the inside as well. Finding Annmarie is actually one of the things that made me start looking into more natural, organic things in every part of my life.
Isn’t she beautiful?
