Our Story

In early 2008, two somewhat popular health video bloggers set out to answer a popular question from readers and viewers, “Annmarie, what skin care products do you use?”

They find the products in their own cabinet aren’t up to their own standards for healthy living, so, slightly embarrassed, Annmarie sets out to find a better solution to share.

Annmarie and Kevin decide they would have better control over the production and quality of organic and products made with natural ingredients if they started their own line.

In early 2009, Annmarie meets an amazing earth-mama chemist, named Bunnie, and together, they agree to collaborate on a pure, natural and organic line called Annmarie Gianni Skin Care.

In November 2011, Kevin and Annmarie begin to assemble
a team that could help them get the message out. By now,
the products are becoming more well known and they
receive endorsements from popular health doctors, authors
and luminaries.

Today, this growing group of dedicated and passionate
people is what drives us to continue to educate about the
skin care industry, question the status quo, and do good for

Determine Your Skin Type

The first step on your way to beautiful, radiant skin is determine your skin type. Knowing what your skin is sensitive to allows you to tailor your skin care routine and pick the products that will be most beneficial to you. After all, how can you fix a problem if you don’t know what it is?

The simplest way to figure out which kind of skin you have is to do an easy test:

1. Tonight before you go to bed, skip your normal skin care routine. Instead, wash your face with a gentle cleanser that doesn’t strip your face of natural oils, such as our Aloe Herb Cleanser.

Quick Tip: An easy way to know if your cleanser is gentle or not is whether it is non-foaming. Soaps that lather easily tend to be harsher in stripping your skin of oils, whereas those that don’t lather wash away dirt and toxins but leave behind good oils.

2. Pat your face dry and do not apply anything else

3. When you wake up in the morning, evaluate how your skin feels. Does it feel tight and dry? Does it feel oily?

If you need extra help evaluating your skin, do the Tissue Test: Take tissue paper (or a tissue that has no added lotion) and, with clean, dry hands, lay the tissue flat on your face and pat it gently against your skin.

If the tissue has no
oily spots, you likely have
dry skin.

This means that you would most

Yes, the list of ingredients for every product is complete. In fact, we can guarantee it!

Many companies don’t add certain ingredients to their labels that are preservatives (like Sodium Benzoate) because they want their products to appear fresher and cleaner than they are. What are the expiration dates of these products?

Because of our unique blend of oils, herbs and extracts, our products last 12 months in temperatures over 70 degrees. Our facial and body oils last up to 3 years. If you prefer to have your products last longer, then please keep them in a climate below 70 degrees. You can store them in a cool place or your refrigerator, though they do not need to be stored in your refrigerator to last 12 months.

What is the difference between the Anti-Aging Serum and the Anti-Aging Oil?

Our Anti-Aging Serum is a great product to help give your skin a tighter look, reduce the appearance of fine lines, and to help even out your skin's look and tone. Our Anti-Aging Oil is a fantastic moisturizer. These two unique products were made to synergistically work together, so for best results, apply our Anti-Aging Serum first, then apply our Anti-Aging Oil immediately after.

What if I have oily skin?

This is a great question!

First, look at what you are putting into your body. Sugars, excess fats (even good fats), soy, and dairy can all attribute to oily skin. Hormone imbalance and digestive unrest is also a contributing factor to oily skin.

Try adding lots of leafy greens, cultured veggies, and good omega 3 fats to your daily routine and see if that is helpful.
